new computer

Things have been really strange lately. Spent all weekend on a really tiring (non Sex Machine) shoot. Since then I've been so slammed with client work that I have barely had time to catch my breath. I did have time, however, to get a new computer. After lots of deliberation, I picked up a flat-screen G5 iMac. So far, it is blowing away the G4 tower I was using in all departments. Most importantly, the display is beautiful. When I finally fired up FCP again, it was like looking at a whole new movie. I can see everything so vividly now. It really was like i was editing blind. This should make it a lot easier to get through the final push to completion. This weekend, Shogo and I need to get to work on the AMERICAN BOYFRIENDS post-production. I also need to pick up a scene with John and Erika and I think we have a photo shoot planned as well. No time for fun at the moment.

editing update

Sex Machine Movie
Editing is my #1 priority at the moment. But things are going really well on the business side of things too at the moment. In fact, really good things are happening in a lot of different areas. While waiting for a very long render, I knocked out an outline for what will become the first SKELETON CITY script. Not sure when we will go into production on this one, but I want to be ready with several potential projects when SEX MACHINE hits. It's kind of nice to be back at the writing stage on a project. On paper, the sky is the limit.

As I scan through the SEX MACHINE timeline, I'm starting to realize that this project will probably provide lots of fodder for whoever might want to psychoanalyze me. There is a lot of bathroom violence/bloodletting in this movie. I'm not really sure where that comes from.

MicroCinema Fest 2005

All the information for MicrocinemaFest 2005 is now up at the official site. I've already talked to Shogo and we will be making the trip. SEX MACHINE co-screenwriter John Oak Dalton will be teaching a Film Boot Camp along with Mindscape Pictures director Jason Santo. Also the entry fee is only $10 for features and $5 for short films. This festival is put on BY filmmakers FOR filmmakers, so they aren't trying to rip you off with high entrance fees. So if you are a filmmaker, check it out.
